Hi there, Since my undergraduate days, I have been fond of the classic aloo muter (potato-pea) sandwich at my university canteen. I was very new to cooking those days, and this grilled sandwich was one of my favorite recipes. I made it with my own twist, and it was always a hit in my family since then. My family loved it as I used to add more veggies than just a classic potato-pea sandwich. It is easy to make and super delicious. It pairs really well with soup and salad. Ingredients: 1 medium boiled and smashes potato 1 small peeled and shredded carrot 1 small onion chopped finely 1/2 cup boiled peas 1/2 chopped tomatoes 1/2 tbsp oil 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic-green chili paste 1 tsp red chili powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp cumin-coriander powder 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp KKM (Kitchen King Masala) 1 tsp salt (adjust it as per your taste at the end) Chat Masala to sprinkle Green Chutney Shredded Cheese Instruction: Filling Prep : In a pan, take 1/2 tbsp of oil Add chopped onions a...

Bowl of Proteins, Veggies and Greens

Image
Hello!! Hope you all are doing great!  Sometimes it is challenging to keep up with healthy eating.  And so, I mix it up a little with my recipes to make my taste buds to like healthy food. One of the mixed-up recipes I eat is this Bowl full of Proteins, Veggies, and Greens. And I and surprised it tastes so delicious. I have grown up eating traditional Indian food full of spices, making it difficult to cut the spice out of my food. So, all the ingredients in the Bowl are cooked with Indian spices.  The Protein in the Bowl is Mung Bean Sprouts. Recently my doctor told me to include protein in every meal. Since my husband and I are both vegetarian, we have limited options for protein, one of which is Mung Bean. I have used different veggies cooked in Indian Spices, and the greens are basically kale and romaine lettuce. Also, it is boring to just eat greens at a single time or only veggies separately, so I add portions of them to make it a Bowl. It also helps me to cont...

Creamy White Sauce from Crushed Oats/Flour Oat

Image
Hello everyone!!  I am so happy to share this recipe of white sauce. We (me and my husband) love white sauce and use it in many of the main course dishes. However, traditionally it is made from all-purpose flour which held me back  from eating it enough. This made me started thinking of the substitute for all-purpose flour, and I gave a try to crushed oats. Well, it turned out really good, and it was creamier than the regular one. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did. I made this batch of white sauce from oats to use in my main dish, "Vegetable Baked Dish." I made it for trial, so I don't have exact measurements, but I tried and mentioning as close as possible in the recipe below .  Ingredients:  1/2 cup Rolled Oats   4 Tbsp Butter   1/2 cup 2% Milk 1/2 cup Water 1/8 Tsp Salt 1/8 Tsp Pepper 1/8 Garlic Powder 1/4 cup Cheese  Instructions:   Crush the rolled oats. Heat a pan and add butter. Once the butter melts, add crushed...
